Weekend
Had holli's fam in for the weekend. It was really nice to have them. I'll tell you one thing for sure, I won't be eating out for a while, I had my fair share this weekend. Great weekend, now I need to focus on finals.

Stressed
So the weekend assignment was to do something for someone more stressed out than I am. This was tough, I wasn't sure such a thing was possible. I don't know if my sister is more stressed, but I know that with the semester ending she has a lot on her plate. Her hubby was out of town this weekend at drill and she was alone. I figured she would be busy doing all her assignments, and would neglect to cook for herself, especially because Blake was is of town. Holli and I invited her over for dinner, she was very gracious and appreciative. Her words were, "Thank you, I needed this." It was a feel good moment. Thanks for the assignment Shayne.

Thanksgiving
It's that time of year again. I love the holiday season. We are really excited for Thanksgiving this year, it's our first time cooking our feast for ourselves. I think it will turn our great.
Our menu: Turkey
Mashed potatoes/gravy
Green beans
Sweet potatoes
Stuffing
Fruit salad
Jello salad
Pumpkin pie
I just finished brining the turkey. I think that it will turn out good. We're going to try and get a jump start on the cooking so that tomorrow is not so rushed and stressful.
I'll keep you posted on the out come...

Babysitting
We're up in Holladay for the weekend watching the kids (nieces and nephew). It has been a really fun weekend. Friday night we took the kids to Cabela's to see the awesome trophy animals and fish. The kids hadn't been to anything like that before, so it was fun to introduce them to a small piece of the world I love. Saturday Jackson and I went and hooped with a really good friend of mine I hadn't seen in a while, it was a lot of fun. We were supposed to go the the Utah/UCLA game, but we kinda wussed out because of the weather. We ended up taking the kiddos to the discovery museum at the Gateway, they had a blast! Today was church as usual. Dinner was good (bbq chicken, salad, and pasta). We played some backyard football, which brought back a lot of memories... Good times! It's has been a really fun, tiring weekend.

Weekend
This has been one of the best football weekends I can remember. My horns beet the beat the pants off Tech in a convincing win. The LSU vs. Bama game was a defensive show down. There was a lot of doubt on LSU's side, but they pulled it off! It came down to a kicking game, a game Bama couldn't compete in.
The weather is changing. I can't say I'm too excited for the winter season to begin.

Catching up
I missed a week... I was down in the Manti-Lasal National forest near Ferron, UT. We spent a few nights up on the mountain, the weather was great! Mornings were a bit cold, but nonetheless great weather. We fished at a family favorite spot, Willow Lake. The fishing was hot, we pulled in a mere 54 fish over a 2 day period. This time of year in the mountains is great. The elk were bugling, shots were fired...wonderful. I caught the winner of the trip, a tiger trout about 21 inches long and 3 lbs, pretty good fish. All in all, the trip was great!

Stranger Danger...
This week I was assigned to buy a stranger a coke. Saturday I went to a farmer's market in Spanish Fork and bought a box of Fuji apples (delicious by the way). While paying for my apples I told the attendant that I would pay for the next customer. The family behind me in line bought a few apples for their kids. When the husband went to pay for the apples and was told they had been paid for already his reaction was great! The attendant told him that I paid for his purchase and he owed nothing. I watched from the car as the conversation between the man and attendant went on. The attendant pointed me out, the husband began to walk over toward my car. I left before the man got over to me. I wonder what he was going to say, I imagine a thank you was in store. The experience fun, and it made me feel good.
PS- The draw back... I gave the attendant 8.00 because I didn't know how much the purchase was going to be. Last time I checked 3 apples aren't 8.00!

cold
The cold rolled in this week. I can't say I am too excited about this. It is not a pleasant sight looking onto the mountains and seeing snow capped peaks. I would like for fall to stay longer, year round preferably. Winter brings an end to hunting season, mountain activities, and so many other recreational activities. I wishing for winter to hold back as long as possible.

Midterms
Midterm week at school is not joke. I'm going to throw it out there, I don't like it. I hate having multiple tests to study for and take on top of assignments due and classes to attend. It is always a week I can't wait to be done with, but it always seems to linger. The good news... It's Thursday, which means Friday is tomorrow. Friday=weekend.... I can't wait!

Grammar
I wish I would have been taught proper grammar in high school. Trying to learn the rules of grammar this late in life is a task. Studying, studying, studying...

"Texas fight, Texas fight..."
Saturday's in the Fall are crucial for my health. I was pumped all week for Saturday's match up of BYU-TX. I was expecting a good showing from BYU, but knew my boy's would get a W. The game wasn't a blowout as I was hoping, but still a win. Our quarterback situation has been all over the place, finally I'm sure that the Gilbert experiment is over, and a decision on McCoy or Ash will be made. I hope the reigns are given to McCoy. We've got a few weeks until the Red River Shootout against Oklahoma.... Let's get it going and get it done!
- Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
- And it's goodbye to A&M.
- Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
- And we'll put over one more win.
- Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
- For it's Texas that we love best.
- Give 'em Hell, Give 'em Hell, Go Horns Go,
- And it's good-bye to all the rest!
- Yea Orange! Yea White!
- Yea Longhorns! Fight! Fight! Fight!
- Texas Fight! Texas Fight,
- Yea Texas Fight!
- Texas Fight! Texas Fight,
- Yea Texas Fight!
- The Eyes of Texas are upon you,
- All the livelong day.
- The Eyes of Texas are upon you,
- You cannot get away.
- Texas Fight, Texas Fight,
- For it's Texas that we love best.
- Hail, Hail, The gang's all here,
- And it's good-bye to all the rest!

Labor Day Weekend
This weekend has been wonderful. Friday night was spent babysitting my niece, Soel. She's about the cutest thing to walk the Earth. Soel had a blast eating dinner with us, walking through onion day's in Payson, and playing with all her toys at home. Saturday was Swiss days in Midway, I can't say this was my favorite part of the weekend, but it made Holli happy, and I ate some pretty darn good pancakes. Saturday afternoon was full of football. Ole Miss/BYU game was trash, boring, sloppy, and slow. I'm not a real fan of either team, but I was hoping for a better game. LSU/Oregon was great, very entertaining! Not being able to watch my horns due to the lack of the Longhorn Network was hard, but after watching commentary and catching all the details I could, our 34-9 win over Rice was by far the best part of the night. Sunday was great, our primary class was empty because of the holiday. Holli made delicious lasagna (I'm glad we have left overs). Monday... Today was great! This morning started with a phone call from Uncle Andy. He asked what I was up to, and then proceeded to tell me he was on his way over to drop off a small box for me. This was a huge surprise. He lives in Denver! He was on his way back home from our family's small ranch in Ferron, UT. He came bearing gifts... A box full of hunting gear: scent blocker, knives, game bags, clothes, headlights, flashlights... the list goes on and on. My favorite item, a Ruger P94, .40 cal. I haven't shot it yet, but I gave it a good cleaning, and hope to get the chance this week some time. After sorting through all my loot we spent the rest of the day in SLC with family. Great weekend!

Abrahm Lucero Lab 1 Blog
Howdy y'all. I'm Abrahm Lucero from San Antonio, TX. I have grown up in the Lone Star state all my life.
Just A little about myself... I am Married to Holli Brooke Lucero, she is my best friend and I could not live without her. We were married April 1, 2009 in the San Antonio, TX temple. She is an amazing woman and I am the luckiest man alive. She too is from Texas, so it is nice when we get the chance to go back home to both our families. Currently we both are studying here at Brigham Young University. She is a human development major, and I am a business management major. She is currently in her last semester, and hopes to move on and work with an adoption agency after graduation. My plans are after graduation involve real estate investment. I want to invest in both residential and commercial properties. Financial planning is also an interest of mine, so I may also dabble in the field of being a financial planner.
I am an avid Texas Longhorns fan... Hook 'em Horns! I enjoy the outdoors. I love to fish, hunt, camp,hike... anything outdoors. I enjoy playing soccer, and currently play in some city leagues and also inter-murals here at BYU. I love college football, and get scolded from my wife on Saturdays during football season. I enjoy spending time with my wife and doing things with her, even if it includes craft fairs. I love hanging out with my brothers. I served a mission in the West Indies and loved every second of it.
Family is extremely important in my life. I am close to both my own family and wife's family.
There is just a little about myself. Thanks for reading!
